I’m a psychodynamic therapist in Atwater Village and Los Feliz.
I work with adults who tend to hold a lot in their heads and don’t always have a place to talk about it honestly. My approach is steady and direct. Many of the people I work with are capable, reflective people who weren’t sure therapy was for them until something in their life started to feel stuck.
Together we look closely at your emotional life and the patterns that shape your relationships—including what shows up between us—so you can understand yourself more clearly and begin doing things differently.
Insight-oriented therapy for thoughtful adults.
My Approach
I work with people who are capable and self-aware but find themselves repeating the same internal patterns.
Maybe it’s anxiety that hides under competence, self-critique that sounds logical but never ends, or wanting closeness while keeping some distance. You might tell yourself you’re fine, but it doesn’t quite feel that way.
My approach is collaborative. We don’t force vulnerability. We stay curious about what happens as you speak: what feels comfortable, what doesn’t, and the moments you notice yourself reacting. Insight can help, but the real shifts tend to be quieter. Over time, you may notice feeling steadier and allowing closeness without bracing for it.
I draw from psychodynamic and relational therapy, schema work, and an earlier academic life studying psychological anthropology. I’ve also completed a post-graduate fellowship in psychodynamic therapy. I’m especially interested in how early roles and family expectations shape who we become, and how those patterns can shift once they’re seen clearly.
Therapy with me is consistent and human. You don’t need to impress me or arrive with a plan. Over time, the work tends to feel less like fixing yourself and more like living in a way that feels less effortful and more alive.
